  3. Protestantism 1524 he was imprisoned several
  4. times but was protected by Cardinal Wolsey
  5. and Henry VIII. He was burned for heresy.
  6. Latimer was appointed bishop of Worcester
  7. 1535, but resigned 1539. Under Edward VI his
  8. sermons denouncing social injustice won him
  9. great influence, but after the accession of
  10. Mary he was arrested 1553 and two years later
  11. burned at the stake in Oxford.
